This issue of the Biosafety Protocol News is a joint Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety / Aarhus Convention Cooperation on Public Access to Information and Public Participation in the area of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The newsletter includes articles prepared jointly by national focal points to the Aarhus Convention and the Cartagena Protocol. In addition, Parties to the Cartagena Protocol from outside the ECE region report how the Aarhus Convention and related guidelines on GMOs are beneficial for their implementation of Article 23 of the Cartagena Protocol.
