Online Training School: Sustainable Marine Governance in the Mediterranean, Aarhus Convention and Protocol on PRTRs

The online training school is organized by the MEPIELAN Centre in collaboration with UNEP/MAP and EPLO will cover the following four thematic sessions:

1. The Barcelona Convention system for the protection of the marine environment and coastal areas of the Mediterranean
2. Specific Legal and Governance Issues for Environmental Protection and Sustainability in the Mediterranean Region
3. Public Participation and Sustainability Governance in the Mediterranean Region
4. Sustainable Consumption and Production in the Mediterranean

Regarding Session 3, the Aarhus Convention and the Protocol on PRTRs will be addressed. The Training School will provide an opportunity for exchange of knowledge and experiences on sustainable environmental governance within the framework of the UNEP/MAP-Barcelona Convention system and on its interlinkages with the Aarhus Convention, the Protocol on PRTRs and other relevant international treaties and processes.
