The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's Environmental and Social Policy (ESP) and Access to Information Policy (AIP) detail the Bank’s commitments to promoting environmentally sound and sustainable development in the full range of its activities, while upholding transparency with regards to its operations and activities. To ensure that these policies remain current, reflect new and emerging contexts in the Bank’s countries of operations, consider emerging best practices and incorporate lessons learned, the Bank reviews each of the ESP and AIP every five years.
The EBRD has prepared revised drafts of the 2024 Access to Information Policy (AIP) and Environmental and Social Policy (ESP) and officially disclosed these on March 25, 2024. EBRD is now initiating a public consultation period during which they will be soliciting public input on the draft 2024 ESP and the draft 2024 AIP from March 25 until May 17 at 23:59 GMT. It will then review all feedback received and make adjustments to the final policies, which will be approved by the EBRD Board of Directors in summer 2024 and come into force on January 1, 2025.
