The report comprises an analysis on the impacts of open data in Social/Political and Economic spheres. By systematic literature review, combined with a study that looks at the publication and use of open government data in Austria, this study provides an overview of the current state-of-the-art on these impacts and gives recommendations on how to maximise the benefits. The analysis results in twelve insights regarding the impacts of open data and gives five policy recommendations. In a second part, the report takes an look at major economic impact studies estimating the monetary value (by examining recent macroeconomic studies in the Austrian context) of open data, open government data, personal data and public sector information.
