This report aims to strengthen civil society groups and the public's awareness of the need for integrated data and monitoring of toxic pollution, its sources, and its impacts on human health and the environment. Within the broader context of pollutant release and transfer registers (PRTRs), the study emphasizes the different developed national PRTRs, offering a nuanced examination of their creation, evolution, and the mechanisms employed for data. By delving into the intricacies of PRTR, this study seeks to exemplify the practical implementation of PRTRs at a national level, unraveling the methodologies employed for data collection, reporting, and quality assurance.
