Aarhus does not apply to information requests related to social impacts, the EIB said

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has replied to a complaint on the Gazela Bridge project in Serbia that was submitted on September 2009 by CEKOR and CEE Bankwatch Network. The complainants grounded their request on Regulation 1367/2006 on the application of the provisions of the Aarhus Convention. The EIB has stated that Aarhus Regulation does not apply to this complaint as it only governs the right to access environmental information and the request submitted was about the loan agreement part referred to social, environmental and health constraints.
