The USIG project seeks to promote responsible international philanthropy by easing the barriers to cross-border grantmaking for U.S. foundations, streamlining the communication and reporting procedures required by the Internal Revenue Service, and serving as an educational and informational resource for those interested in doing international grantmaking. With information on accounting, legal, operational and administrative issues facing donors, and a list of intermediary organizations that focus on a particular issue or geographic area, and country notes examining provisions of local law that should be considered under IRS Revenue Procedure 92-94.
