This joint UNECE and European Environment Agency project has the objective of strengthening environmental information and observation capacity and networks in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia in order to provide reliable information on the state of the environment as a basis for improved policy making and public awareness. Another objective is to enhance co-operation between existing environmental networks. The WGEMA site supports networks of officials responsable for main environmental data flows and information systems and a catalogue of descriptions of environmental data sources in these countries.
