Toxics Release Inventory Burden Reduction Proposed Rule

Under section 313 of the United States Emergency Planning and CommunityRight-to-Know Act, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency has proposed to revise certain requirementsfor the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI).The purpose of these revisions is toreduce reporting burden associated withthe TRI reporting requirements whilecontinuing to provide valuableinformation to the public. If adopted, the rule change would increase eligibility for the Form A Certification Statement for non-Persistent Bioaccumulative and Toxic(PBT) chemicals by raising theeligibility threshold. It would also allow limited use of Form A for PBT chemicals where total releases are zero and the PBT annual reportable amount does not exceed 500 pounds (excluding Dioxin and dioxin-like compounds). For details and additional information, see the EPA TRI website, www.epa.gov/tri/(Original source: http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/01jan20051800/edocket.access.gp…)
