Nissan has established a long-term goal of reducing CO2 emissions from new vehicles byapproximately 70% from 2000 levels by 2050. Nissan has introduced its Global CO2 Management Way, QCT-C, to indicate the CO2 reduction initiatives taking place across the whole company. QCT-C involves reducing CO2 emissions not only from its products, but also from all aspects of corporate operations. The 2008 report also introduces Nissan’s environmental e-learning program is one of its in-house educational tools for employees. This learning tool, which it developed in concert with the Natural Step, illustrates global environmental mechanisms and the importance to automakers of involvement with environmental challenges. The company has announced plans to take its basic environmental education program, which includes e-learning, and develop it into a global program covering affiliate companies as well.
