Recommendation on e-democracy

The Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers adopted a Recommendation on e-democracy (CM/Rec(2009)1) offers all European governments substantial guidelines and principles when dealing with e-democracy. It is accompanied by a number of practical tools prepared for those who require hands-on information about combining modern information and communication tools and democratic requirements and practice. This Recommendation was prepared by the Ad Hoc Committee on e-democracy of the Council of Europe (CAHDE) and finalised at its fourth and final plenary meeting in Strasbourg (11-13 November 2008).
