The aim of Public Participation Campaign (PPC) is to ensure citizens’ rights and public participation are realized through implementation of the Aarhus Convention throughout the UNECE region. PPC works to keep citizens and NGOs updated, contributes to an exchange of information, and supports participation in the official process through development of position papers and declarations. It recognizes as a challenge achieving a sound representation of the different views and positions of NGOs. PPC gives special attention to the participation of NGO representatives from those countries that encounter more difficulties or lack the tradition of actively taking part in such processes. The web site includes information on Convention-related national and international activities, conferences and meetings, events calendar, current projects, discussion forum, EU implementation, newsflash, position papers, publications and other documents and the Campaign Committee and archive, and links.
