Patient and Public Involvement in Health: The Evidence for Policy Implementation

This report is a synthesis of the findings from the 12 research projects in the UK Department of Health research programme, Health in Partnership. It finds that the involvement of patients, care-givers and the public in health decision-making is founded on good evidence and lies at the heart of the modernization of the National Health Service.
