One-day-Workshop: Interim Results on Access to Information in Environmental Matters in Germany

The Independent Institute for Environmental Investigations organized this workshop to draw initial conclusions on practical experiences with the new rights to access to environmental information in Germany. The workshop aimed to check the implementation and application of the European Community directive on environmental information. First experiences from NGOs and citizens with the application of the Directive in Germany were presented. Based on controversial definitions in the legal language and the differnt bases for claims arising from special legislative acts, proposals for a more effective use of access to environmental information were also discussed and developed.
