Internet safety and malware

To help mitigate the risks from malware - malicious software distributed over the internet - the World Health Organisation IT security Chief recommends follwoing these precautions: (i) Do not follow unsolicited links and do not open unsolicited email messages; (ii) Use caution when visiting untrusted websites; (iii) Refer to the Recognizing and Avoiding Email Scams document for more information on avoiding email scams: http://www.us-cert.gov/reading_room/emailscams_0905.pdf; (iv) Refer to the Avoiding Social Engineering and Phishing Attacks document for more information on avoiding social engineering attacks: http://www.us-cert.gov/cas/tips/ST04-014.html; (v) Install antivirus software on home computers, and keep the signature files up to date.
