The Center is a virtual organization that carries out initiatives in education, research and practice, in the spheres of environment, urban, community, economy and information. The Environment Sphere of GDRC's activities focus on the specific themes of environmental decision-making, sustainable development, and oceans, coasts and small islands. GDRC's Information Constellation addresses knowledge management, information design and information and communication technologies. The objective of the programme on Sustainable Development is to function as a repository of key online information on the theme. The NGO Cafe seeks to assist NGOs in enhancing and improving their programmes and activities; to effect a better understanding of NGOs in general; and to enable NGOs to network at local, regional and international levels. GDRC Virtual Fellows are professionals and individual researchers who are working on or carrying out research on themes close to those of GDRC's Programmes.
