Genetically modified organisms: US regulatory and advisory bodies

The US Agencies primarily responsible for regulating the development and exploitation of genetically modified organisms are the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These three agencies share responsibility for regulating agricultural biotechnology.
