EEN is an international non-governmental organization advocating environmental protection as a means to improving health and well-being. Member groups and organizations represent health, environment, women, health professionals and others. The network's current campaigns aim to ensure environment policy standards meet children’s health needs; encourage implementation of the EU Environment and Health Action Plan; promote EU chemical policy, known as REACH, working closely with other European NGOs; and stimulate particular commitment to countries and vulnerable groups that face the greatest environmental health problems. EEN participates in European ECO Forum and the UNECE Working Group on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTR).
