eParticipation is a Preparatory Action to promote the development and use of Information and Communication Technologies in the legislative decision-making processes, in parliamentary and government environments. It aims at harnessing the benefits of the use of ICTs for better legislative process / better legislation at all levels of governmental decision making and for an enhanced public participation in such processes. Recent demand for Citizens participation to EU level decisions increases the importance and potential of eParticipation. eParticipation comprises a variety of areas such as e-consultation, e-legislation, e-petition and e-deliberation.
