The REC, in partnership with the Guardian Foundation (UK), invites applications for "Environment in the News", a training workshop for environmental journalists to take place on May 25 - 29, 2005, in Istanbul, Turkey. The workshop aims to provide press, radio and television journalists from national and regional mass media with skills and techniques they could immediately apply to improve the quality and outreach of their stories and reports. The training relies predominantly on hands-on environmental reporting experience. The language of the Environment in the News training workshop will be English. Simultaneous translation from and into Turkish will be provided for participants with limited English language knowledge.
