On October 31, 2005, the Japanese Ministry of the Environment announced the creation of a website on endocrine disruption. The Environmental Information Center is running the website under the supervision of the ministry. The website aims to supply comprehensible information about endocrine disruption and to introduce a variety of insights into these problems. The website is available only in Japanese. So much remains to be explored scientifically and so many aspects remain to be explained technically about endocrine disruption. So the website provides information such as detailed explanations, interviews and columns, and even includes opinions that differ from those of the ministry and the center as creators of the website. The website also introduces an annual international symposium organized by the ministry. The creation of this website is one of the measures to promote information sharing and risk communication, a core policy of the ministry as defined in the "Enhanced Tack on Endocrine Disruption 2005 (ExTEND 2005)." The ministry¡Çs perspectives on endocrine-disrupting effects of substances were published in March 2005.(Original source: http://www.japanfs.org/db/database.cgi?cmd=dp&num=1279&dp=data_e.html)
