The mission of the DDP is to consolidate democracy through the promotion of citizen participation, a human rights culture and good governance in South Africa. Local Government Training provides training of local councillors and ward committee members in "Greener Governance" through capacity-building amongst municipal managers focusing on sustainable urban planning and creation of a cities-network in the region. It further provides training of environmental auditors on local level.
