Comparing Access to Justice in Asian and European Transition Countries

The June 2005 workshop held in Bogor, Indonesia, presented bi-regional perspective on topics such as the guaranty of access to justice through constitutional and legal reforms, the quality and applicability of free legal aid mechanisms and the creation of a culture of openness and public empowerment. The workshop was the outcome of the integration of new members from Eastern Europe and mainland Southeast Asia into the Asia-Europe meeting (ASEM) process.
