Civil Society from Eastern Europe, Caucasus an Central Asia (EECCA) call on Governments to approve the “Almaty Amendment”

In this statement from Civil Society from Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia issued by ECO Forum on 24 May 2005, EECCA NGOs present at the 2nd meeting of the Parties of the Aarhus Convention urge Governments to approve the "Almaty Amendment" in order to secure the public's rights to be informed and to participate in decisions on GMOs in the region. The amendment was adopted at the second meeting of the Parties on 27 May 2005.
