Citizen Participation in Local Governance: Experiences from Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Divided into two parts, this report draws on research into Civil Society Engagements in Local Governance from Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. The first part "Frameworks for Citizen Participation", provides a systematic overview of laws and policies that have provided inroads for citizen participation in the 3 countries. The second part, "Civil Society Engagements in Local Governance", describes how civil society actors are responding to the varying opportunities opened up by the decentralisation processes in each country.
