Almaty Conference concludes with new rights for Civil Society

This report on the Second Meeting of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention provides the perspective of one NGO which viewed the outcome as a victory for environmental democracy. Environmental and civil organisations present in Almaty had met for a preparatory meeting and adopted the "Almaty Action Statement".
