The Aarhus Convention has been adopted by Albania. Its implementation is considered to be a priority for Albania and other countries of the region. The Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme for South-Eastern Europe project, "Support Developing Strategies for the Implementation of the Aarhus Convention', financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands, aims to ensure effective implementation of the Aarhus Convention in Albania and the Balkan region through a transparent and participatory process.
