This proposal for an information literacy platform and an action plan for Central and South-East European countries contains policy recommendations and practical directions. It is intended to inform and inspire policy makers, educators, and the information and library professional community to prepare and implement information literacy strategies to support the development of the information and knowledge society. The recommendations were developed following the UNESCO-CEIWorkshop on Information Literacy Initiatives for Central and South-East European Countries, ICPE, held in Ljubljana, 7-28 March 2006.
