Aarhus Convention Second Regional Workshop for the Central Asia Region

The Report of the Workshop, held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan (4-7 June 2002), identifies challenges to implementation of the the three pillars of the Convention. The workshop had been organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the American Bar Association/Central European and Eurasia Law Initiative (ABA/CEELI) with the cooperation of the Tajik Ministry for the Environment and UNDP. The participants' recommendations are appended to the Report.
