UNEP Regional Consultation Meetings in preparation for the 2007 Global Civil Society Forum (GCSF) and Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) were concluded in December 2006. In Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America and West Asia, civil society representatives met to discuss pressing environmental issues of relevance to their regions and to the global environmental agenda. Among the topics discussed were Gender and the Environment; Water; Chemicals Management; Millennium Development Goals and Environment; Globalisation, Ecosystem Services and Human Well-being.
