Date published:

The resolution is born from the collaboration of the Environment Committee and the activists of the working group on the environment of the area in Milan and Monza-Brianza. We have implemented our role as spokesman of citizens, making us bearers of their ideas and requests. This is real democracy!

The resolution addresses the issue of waste incineration, outdated practice and to censor. The ashes from the incineration are highly toxic, make up a third of the weight of waste burned and must be disposed of as hazardous waste in landfills authorized the provision of such specific types of waste. Burning waste so do not eliminate the problem of landfills, but if you create new ones with more toxic waste. Incineration in particular have expressed issues and concerns both medical oncology is the medical environment. For this reason, the EU also suggests not achieve more incineration plants. Upon termination committed the government "to take initiatives to convert the old incineration centers in composting, recycling and plants for the MBT (mechanical biological treatment) to identify reward systems for the separate collection of municipal solid waste by municipalities and companies to provide such services, including charging systems punctual. " We also ask, to allow all citizens free access to justice, information environmental and in all stages of decision-making authorization for new treatment plants and monitoring of the plants currently in operation, as required by the Aarhus Convention of 26 June 1998. Now the majority has the ability to express themselves clearly taking a stand on the side of citizens or of losing yet another opportunity for change.
