Along with it a meeting of the working group of the bill "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Kazakhstan on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters."
"We have gathered to decide what further action is needed to improve domestic legislation in terms of the implementation of the Aarhus Convention, ratified by Kazakhstan," - said the Vice-Minister of Environment and Water Resources Minister Bektas Mukhamedjanov in his speech.
"The bill is important because it affects the significant factors of the state. In addition to state secrets have questions that are not related to them, but which, according to experts, should also not be available to the public. That is why we need to determine the volumes of information that should be available to citizens and those which should be really limited access ", - he said.
The vice-minister in the current year for the first time included in the list of public services access to information through the Environmental Fund, and the next year it will be financed by the state. "I hope we can provide the necessary access to information", - he said.
Aarhus Convention - Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters. Was signed by 46 countries in Aarhus (Denmark) 25 June 1998 on the 4th Ministerial Conference on Environment European countries within the framework of the "Environment for Europe" and ratified by the Law of RK dated 23 October 2000. Kazakhstan became a Party Kontsentsii January 11, 2001.
