The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Government of Belarus will co-host the side event, PRTRs in Action, as part of the Central and Eastern Europe regional meeting on the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM). PRTRs in Action: Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers as a tool for SAICM and Multilateral Environmental Agreements implementation will address how PRTRs can help with implementation of SAICM and Multilateral Environmental Agreements. Craig Boljkovac, UNITAR’s Deputy Coordinator of Programmes in Chemicals, Waste and Environmental Governance, will chair the session.
The side event will take place from 1.00 to 2.00 pm, on 5 December 2006, in the Conference Hall “Kampenhauzen”, Hotel Konventa seta.
