The Pan-European Programme Workshop on Safe and Healthy Walking and Cycling in Urban Areas

The PEP workshop on safe and healthy walking and cycling in urban areas will be held on September 30 - October 1, 2010 in Batumi, Georgia (Hotel “Intourist Palace”).The major objectives of the Workshop are: (a) to take stock of and share experiences in progress and challenges in promoting walking and cycling in urban areas;(b) to build capacity in the subject; (c) to encourage policymakers across the three sectors to develop targeted strategies and concrete measures that support pedestrian and cycle-friendly cities and (d) to prepare an initial proposal on introducing walking and cycling in Batumi (case study on Batumi).
