The late 1990s were characterised by unprecedented media coverage and publicconcern in the EU about genetically-modified (GM) crops and the food derivedfrom them. Researchers in ten EU member states were investigating GM regulationthroughout that period, analysing the regulators’ response and the policyimplications. This summary report presents highlights from a ten-country study funded by European Community's DGXII under its Biotechnology Programme. With links to each country study.
