Held in Strasbourg, 23-24 April 2007, the Symposium explored new opportunities for enhancing civic participation through electronic means. Theme one addressed Government to citizen to government communications: engaging citizens in decision-making. Theme II on "Beneath the hype: overcoming barriers and measuring impact" included a formative evaluation of fostering e-democracy and embedding of e-participation processes.
