UNECE technical cooperation is based on the following main principles: it should be demand driven, results oriented and focused on the countries most in need, namely countries with economies in transition of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and South-East Europe. UNECE technical cooperation services aim at improving the national capacity of these countries to implement global and ECE legal instruments, norms and standards. They have a strong regional/subregional dimension and promote transboundary solutions to shared problems. Another important goal is to support UNECE member States with transition/emerging market economies in their capacity-building efforts towards the achievement of internationally agreed development goals. With Technical Cooperation Strategy (adopted in 2004), Project Portfolio, Evaluation, Reporting, Regional Advisors, Cooperation Partnerships and documents.
