Workshop aims to prepare guidelines on environmental monitoring and reporting by enterprises

This workshop, which is being organized by the UNECE Working Group on Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, will exchange the latest experience and prepare guidelines on legal, normative, institutional, financial and technical measures to improve environmental monitoring and reporting by enterprises, above all in EECCA countries.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The workshop will focus on large enterprises in sectors with a significant environmental impact which can and should effectively conduct all three types of environmental monitoring: industrial monitoring, emissions monitoring and environmental impact monitoring. Discussions will centre on the role and tasks not only of the enterprises themselves but also of other important stakeholders, such as environmental protection bodies at various levels, as well as statistical, hydro-meteorological and epidemiological services, associations of producers and environmental non-governmental organizations.

 

The Workshop will be take place from 4-6 September 2006, in Debe (near Warsaw), Poland.
