Task Force on Access to Justice explores Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms

The Task Force on Access to Justice convened by the Parties to the Aarhus Convention will hold its first meeting on 16-17 February 2006, in Geneva.  The mandate of the Task Force includes continuing the analytical work initiated by the previous Task Force, developing information and training or analytical material and activities, and considering the effective contribution of remedies available under different legal systems to resolve disputes. It will also examine the establishment of appropriate assistance mechanisms to remove or reduce financial and other barriers to meeting the Convention's objectives.
