The organisation “Ecologistes in Acció” from Valencià Country opposes the construction of an Individual Temporary Storage (ATI) at the Cofrentes nuclear power plant. The environmental organisation sent a document to the Ministry of Environment explaining its reservations towards the project, which serves to store nuclear waste. In this document, the organisation asked the Ministry for the report on the Environmental Impact Assessment. According to this organization, non-disclosure of that report would not allow citizens to be fully informed as is recommended under the Aarhus Convention. The organisation also warned of a few other problems related to the nuclear power plant, such as the risk of flooding and emphasized again its strong opposition to prolonging the plant’s lifetime.
