Spain: Alliance Mar Blava complaint's with the European Commission for violation of Community law by the Government of Spain

The Mar Blava Alliance registered a complaint with the European Commission for violation of Community law by the Government of Spain. The Spanish Government has apparently ignored to undertake a strategic assessment of the effects of hydrocarbons in the environmental processing of oil exploration projects currently underway in the vicinity of the Balearic Islands.In its complaint, Mar Blava highlights the need for the European Commission to require the Spanish Government to submit the procedure of strategic environmental assessments and that they should assess the impact of any actions undertaken.
