In November 2016, a meeting of the Working Group of the Parties to the Protocol on PRTRs under the Aarhus Convention was held in Geneva. The event once again took place without the participation of official representatives of the Russian Federation. The process of creating the Aarhus Convention, which was attended by Russia, began in 1991 at the ministerial conference ‘Environment for Europe’. Since then, 25 years have passed, but the country has still not adopted the Convention and its Protocol.
