Malta: Court turns down Civil Society injunction in favour of studies on Sliema, Mriehel projects

The injunctions in the TownSquare and the Mriehel towers cases will not be uphold anymore. The court explained, that the so far missing impact studies will be presented by the Planning Authority hearing. But NGOs and other plaintiffs complain this proceeding violated the Aarhus Convention and the relevant EU Directive as being no “reasonable timeframe […] for for the public to prepare and participate effectively during the environmental decision-making.”
