Bishkek (AKI) - In recent years, journalists are not actively writing articles on environmental issues.  On this December 11 said Director of Information Aarhus Centre in Osh Kanibek Isabaev at a roundtable in Bishkek to discuss the draft of the National Report on the Implementation of the Aarhus Convention.

According to him, the materials on the topic of environmental journalists write only when the competition is announced.  "We have over 3 years of annual competitions of media coverage of environmental issues and then they are very actively involved.  Sometimes, a journalist comes to 20 materials, but last year very little written material, "- said K.Isabaev.

Head of the Department of Ecology and Politics of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry Dzhyparkul Bekkulova said that more journalists rush to meet public relations.

"The media could help us in disseminating information about the environment.  Previously, we invited them, but they do not always come to the meeting.  So now we do not even call.  This is my opinion, but now journalists rush to the high-level meetings, public relations, "- she said.
