Numerous citizens of the community of Porpetto have signed a report in which they list the problematic issues about the building of a third lane for the A4 motorway near the town. In the report, the citizens complain that they were only informed about the project when relevant works were already on-going. They say that this would be incompatible with the most elementary principles of a participatory democracy. These principles are enshrined in the Aarhus Convention to which Italy is a Party. The Report will soon be submitted to the mayor of Popetto and the Director of Autovie, the company involved in the building of the new lane.
