Italy: Construction of Tyrrhenian-Brenner motorway without access to information

The works on the Tyrrhenian-Brenner motorway in Ronco Campo Canneto have continued regardless of the fact that citizens were not provided with sufficient information on the project as required by the Aarhus Convention. As a response, affected citizens sent a letter to the relevant authorities in which they explained the consequences which the road construction has on their health and the environment. They request to immediately receive adequate information and suggested a modification to the project which is supposed to decrease the potential negative impacts of the construction. They are now waiting for the authorities' feedback to their proposed project amendment.
