France: A global pact for the Environment

Since six months, lawyers from forty countries are working on a document establishing principles for enhanced environmental protection globally. The global pact for the environment recognizes the important roles played by non-state actors and in this way repeats several of the principles already set out in the 1992 Rio Declaration as well as the Aarhus Convention.
