Court tells EC to disclose pesticide impurities

The commission refused to give campaigning group PAN Europe and the Dutch arm of Greenpeace parts of an assessment report detailing the composition of glyphosate when asked because it feared the information was commercially sensitive.

But EU judges said that all information on emissions to the environment should be made public under the Aarhus convention.

PAN Europe described the ruling as significant, stressing that pesticide impurities and additives may harm the environment. It is also important to compare batches of pesticides used for safety testing with commercial variants, it added.
