PADELIA activities support the development of environmental law, training and enforcement, including the role of the judiciary. PADELIA is a successor to UNEP/UNDP/Dutch Joint Project on Environmental Law and Institutions in Africa. In Burkina Faso, Malawi, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe activities involving development of laws are country-specific. In Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda the focus is on development and harmonization of laws on issues of common and transboundary character within a sub-regional project.
