Monograph: 25 years of the Aarhus Convention in South Eastern Europe

The publication, authored by a group of experts in environmental law, provides an in-depth analysis of the Aarhus Convention application in South-Eastern Europe, examining its challenges and effectiveness. It explores legal and practical issues related to access to environmental information, public participation and access to justice, offering valuable insights for legal practitioners and policymakers.

By assessing the complexities of environmental governance in the region, the publication highlights both achievements and areas for improvement. Through the identification of key obstacles and proposed reforms, the publication contributes to the ongoing dialogue on environmental law and governance, supporting efforts to enhance transparency, public engagement and legal framework for environmental protection. These insights were developed by renowned experts following discussions at the OSCE Mission-supported conference on the Aarhus Convention implementation, held at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 2023.
